ITEM EXPLANATION :
Lisa Hildabrand, the City's Finance Director, has been asked to report to the Parks and
Recreation Commission concerning the current and future outlook of the City's fiscal condition.
The presentation will focus on operating expenses, revenue projections and impacts that the
state budget will have upon Carlsbad's budget.
A PowerPoint presentation will be used as part of the staff report and the Commission will
receive a printed copy prior to the staff presentation. Ms. Hildabrand was requested by staff to
present this information as a prelude to the following agenda item which deals with the recently
approved Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget. The information she shares will provide a
better understanding of the Operating and CIP Budget approval process by City Council, both
now and in future years.
