RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donation of two thousand dollars ($2,000) from the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau in
support of the Northwest Quadrant Park Tot-Lot and recommend acceptance by the City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Carlsbad Christmas Bureau has donated two thousand dollars ($2,000) for the Northwest
Quadrant Park Tot-Lot. As soon as the City gets closer to the construction phase of the project
(Spring 2005), we will transfer the funds from the Recreation Trust Fund into the construction
account to purchase or upgrade the Tot-Lot equipment.

Dear Carlsbad Christmas Bureau:
I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation for your very generous
donation for the Northwest Quadrant (Pine) Park Tot-Lot. As you probably
are aware, the Northwest Quadrant Park is currently going through its
approval process and if all goes well, construction is scheduled to take place
in early 2005. Your donation has been deposited into a Recreation Trust
Fund for the time being. As soon as the City gets closer to the construction
phase of the project, we can transfer the funds at that time to purchase or
upgrade Tot-Lot equipment that can be used for the youth of our community.
It is because of these donations from organizations such as yours, that we
are able to continue to provide the best parks and recreation facilities to our
local citizens. On behalf of the Recreation Department and the City of
Carlsbad, I would like to again Thank You for your generosity and
compassion.
