RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donations totaling $721.50 for our Opportunity Grants Scholarship Fund and recommend
acceptance by the City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
It is the mission of the Carlsbad Recreation Department to provide a fun and safe recreational
environment for the children of the City of Carlsbad, regardless of physical or financial challenges. In our
efforts, we have established a scholarship fund to offer financial assistance to those children from low-
income families who could not otherwise participate in recreation programs. This donation will help fund
scholarships for our Opportunity Grants program.
The following donations were received during our 2002-2003 Winter/Spring Brochure period (December
2002 - May 2003) in support of our Opportunity Grants Program.
