RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Reschedule the January 19, 2004 Commission Meeting to another date in January.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
The regularly scheduled January 19, 2004 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting falls on
the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and all City of Carlsbad offices are closed. During the month
of February, the regularly scheduled Commission meeting also falls on a city observed holiday
when all offices are also closed. Consequently, staff is requesting to reschedule the January
meeting primarily so the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget submittal can be presented
to the Commission before further processing which typically begins during the end of the month.
During the Commission workshop in November, Commission members specifically asked that the
CIP budget for Park Development and Maintenance projects be presented for review and
comment by the Commission. In order to facilitate this request, the January Commission meeting
will need to be re-scheduled. Staff would suggest and recommend that Commissioners bring their
personal calendars to the meeting so that alternate dates for rescheduling can be discussed and
confirmed.
