RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Select Commission Members to serve on a naming rights Committee.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
During the January Commission meeting, the Commission requested that this issue be put on the
agenda for discussion and possible action in the form of Committee selection.

ACTION
Staff would recommend that if a Committee were formed, that it is done so to evaluate the
potential opportunities, benefits and constraints associated with naming rights in connection with
individual or corporate donations and sponsorship programs. Committee review should also
consider existing City policies with respect to the naming of park sites, facilities within park sites
or established sponsorship criteria for recreation programs.
All Committee recommendations should then be presented back to the Commission for further
discussion prior to Commission action and any further processing requirements.
