RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donations and recommend acceptance by City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 18, 2004 the Recreation Department received two cash donations; $1,500 from the
Carlsbad Police Officer's Association (CPOA), and $500 from the Carlsbad Village Optimist Club
(CVOC) as sponsors of the T.R.U.S.T. Program. These funds will be used to promote and
support the Recreation Department's T.R.U.S.T. Program.
The Recreation Department wishes to gratefully acknowledge the Carlsbad Police Officer's
Association and the Carlsbad Village Optimist Club for their generosity and cash donations.
Letters of Thanks are attached.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $1500 received from the Carlsbad Police Officer's Association and the $500 received from
the Carlsbad Village Optimist has been deposited into the Recreation Trust Account (149-4503-
5651) for utilization in the promotion of the Sportsmanship/T.R.U.S.T. Program.
