Summary Report - June 20,2005 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting I June 23,2005 KEITH BEVERLY RECREATION TO: MAYOR LEWIS MAYOR PRO TEM HALL CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS KULCHIN, PACKARD, SIGAFOOSE FROM: SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST SUMMARY REPORT OF THE JUNE 20,2005 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING CONSENT CALENDAR - The following consent items were unanimously approved 5-0 (Hubbard, Pacheco Absent) 1. AB #605-I SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION) - The Commission accepted, approved and filed the summary report of the April 18, 2005 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. 2. AB #605-2 RECEIPT OF DONATION - (ACTION) - The Commission received a donation of $100 in support of the Counselors in Training (CIT) Program from the Carlsbad Village Optimist Club. 3. AB #605-3 RECEIPT OF CASH DONATIONS - (ACTION) - The Commission received donations totaling $3,103 in support of Carrillo Ranch from multiple sources. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS 4. AB #605-4 COUNSELORS IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM - (INFO) -The Commission received an informational report on the teen based program. 5. AB M05-5 CITIZEN REQUEST TO PROVIDE SKATEBOARDING OPPORTUNlTtES IN THE NORTHERN MOST AREA OF CARLSBAD - (ACTION) - After staff report regarding the -~ request of several young citizens, the Commission unanimously (5-0) recommended to direct staff to research and prepare a report which considers viable options and alternatives to provide skateboarding opportunities in North Carlsbad. 6. AB #605-6 LAKE CALAVERA TRAILS MASTER PLAN - (ACTION1 - The Commission reviewed the proposed Lake Calavera Master Plan as reported by staff and unanimously (5-0) recommended approval of the plan to the City Council. 7. AB #605-7 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION WORKSHOP DISCUSSION ITEMS - JINFO) - The Commission requested several agenda items for the workshop to be held later this summer.
