TITLE:
RECEIPT OF CASH DONATIONS
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donations and recommend acceptance by City Manager.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
This summer, Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park held its first annual Film Nights series. A different
movie featuring Leo Carrillo from Hollywood’s Golden Era was shown outdoors on four
consecutive Friday evenings:
August I9 - Viva Villa (1 934)
August 26 - History is Made at Night (1 937)
September 2 -Before Morning (1933) and This is Your Life, Leo Carrillo (1959)
September 9 - Love Me Forever (1 935)
An episode of the 1950s television series, The Cisco Kid, was shown to the cheering crowd
before each of the main features. Attendance averaged I00 people a night-many were repeat
visitors. During intermission, staff made a brief presentation pertaining to the upcoming Barn
StabilizationlRestoration project. Visitors generously donated a total of $745.17 to the Carrillo
Ranch Trust Fund to assist with upcoming park projects.
All proceeds were promptly deposited into the Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund (Account
#I 494504).
