SUMMARY REPORT OF THE OCTOBER 17, 2005 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
MEETING
CONSENT CALENDAR - The following consent items were unanimously approved 5-0
1. AB #1005-1 SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION) - The Commission accepted, approved and
filed the summary report of the June 20, 2005 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
2. AB #1005-2 RECEIPT OF DONATION - (ACTION) - The Commission received a donation of
$500 in support of the "National Public Lands Day".
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
3 AB #1005-3 NAMING OF DOG PARK AMENITY AT HIDDEN CANYON COMMUNITY PARK
- (ACTION) - The Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the Dog Park amenity at
Hidden Canyon Park be named in honor of Ann D. L'Heureux.
4 AB #1005-4 PINE AVENUE COMMUNITY PARK MASTER PLAN REVISION - (ACTION) -
After staff report and public comment, the Commission voted unanimously to leave in tact the
Pine Park Master Plan with the exception of the ornamental garden and recently acquired
parcels on Madison. The Commission appointed a sub committee of Commissioners
(Comstock, Hubbard and Pacheco) to set a date, place and time to conduct a public workshop
to discuss uses of the properties on Madison. The sub committee will report their findings back
to the Commission that will make recommendations to the City Council for use of these parcels.
5. AB #1005-5 PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION HOLIDAY MEETING / DINNER -
(ACTION) - The Commission voted unanimously to conduct their December meeting on
Friday, December 16th at 5 pm at Carrillo Ranch with their annual holiday celebration to
immediately follow.
