RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Acknowledge recipients of Recognition, Achievement, and Citation Awards from District XII of the
California Parks and Recreation Society.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 9, 2006, staff and volunteers representing the City of Carlsbad Recreation Department
attended the annual California Parks and Recreation Society Awards and Installation Luncheon
at the Coronado Community Center. Several individuals from the Department were nominated
and selected by the Board of Directors to receive an award in one of the three categories;
Recognition, Achievement, and Citation.
A Part Time Staff Recognition award was presented to Gregg Anderson, recognizing his
excellent service and dedication to Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park.
On behalf of the Department, Bonnie Elliott was presented with a Recreation Program
Achievement Award for the first annual Fall Festival special event that was held at Leo Carrillo
Ranch Historic Park on November 12, 2005.
A Volunteer Recognition Award was presented to volunteer Gary Hill for his outstanding
achievements and extraordinary dedication to the City of Carlsbad Trails system.
Chuck and Nancy Anson, Tim Campbell, Tom Gullihur, Bill Hart, Barbara Irani, and Kevin Skjei
were presented with a Citation Award for their volunteer service, working to construct and
maintain the Carlsbad trails system.
The City of Carlsbad Recreation Department wishes to recognize and acknowledge the
significant achievements of those individuals that have received awards. Your efforts and
dedication to serving the community are much appreciated.
