SUMMARY REPORT OF THE OCTOBER 16, 2006 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
CONSENT CALENDAR - The following consent items were unanimously approved 7*0
1. AB #1006-1 SUMMARY REPORT- (ACTION} - The Commission accepted and approved the Summary
Report of the September 18,2006 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
2. AB # 1006-2 RECEIPT OF DONATION- fACTION) - The Commission received a donation of funds for a
Public Access Defibrillatorfor Leo Carrillo Ranch and recommended acceptance by the City Council.
3. AB # 1006-3 RECEIPT OF DONATION- (ACTION) - The Commission received a donation of funds for a
Public Access Defibrillator for Stagecoach Park and recommended acceptance by the City Council.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
4. AB #1006-4 CITY OF CARLSBAD BUDGET FOR FY 2006-07 - (INFO) - The Commission received a report
on the Operating Budget and the Capital Improvement Budget for FY 2006-07 from Finance Director, Lisa
Irvine.
5. AB # 1006-5 CITY OF CARLSBAD KATRINA RELIEF FOR WAVELAND. MISSISSIPPI- (INFO) Information
was provided to the Commission on the efforts made by the City of Carlsbad and its employees to support
Hurricane Katrina victims in Waveland, Mississippi.
6. AB # 1006-6 ATHLETIC FIELD ALLOCATION PROCEDURES - (INFO) - The Commission
received a report from staff outlining the Recreation Department's Field Allocation procedures and heard
public comment on the topic.
7. AB # 1006-7 NAMING RIGHTS OF PARKS AND MUNICIPAL FACILITIES- (ACTION} - The Commission
received an update on the Naming Rights Policy and provided comments to staff.
8. AB #1006-8 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION HOLIDAY MEETING/DINNER - (ACTION) -The
Commission voted unanimously to conduct their December meeting on Friday, December 8, 2006 at 5:30
p.m. at Leo Carrillo Ranch, with their annual holiday celebration to immediately follow.
