SUMMARY REPORT OF THE NOVEMBER 20, 2006 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
MEETING
CONSENT CALENDAR - The following consent items were unanimously approved 7-0
1. AB #1106-1 SUMMARY REPORT- fACTION) - The Commission accepted and approved the
Summary Report of the October 16, 2006 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
2. AB # 1106-2 RECEIPT OF PROPOSAL LETTER - (ACTION) - The Commission received a letter
and proposal from Carlsbad resident Angelo Januzzi to consider a Sports Complex in conjunction
with an organization called Big league Dreams.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
3. AB #1106-3 TRAILBLAST EVENT- fINFO) - The Commission received an informational report
from staff detailing the recent TrailBlast event.
4. AB # 1106-4 SKATEBOARDING-(ACTION) - The Commission received and approved an update
on staff efforts made to examine skateboarding opportunities in Carlsbad, in addition, three
Commissioners (Cooper, Craig, and Pacheco) volunteered to serve on a committee to explore
alternate skateboarding opportunities in the City and to report their findings back to the full Parks and
Recreation Commission.
