RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive a donation of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for our Sportsmanship/T.R.U.S.T Program
and recommend acceptance by the City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
In March, 2007 the Recreation Department received a donation of $1,000 from the Rotary Club
of Encinitas. The Recreation Department assisted the Rotarians in scheduling and coordinating
field use for their annual fundraising youth soccer tournament. The importance of our
sportsmanship program in our community was the inspiration behind the donation. These funds
will be used to promote and support the Recreation Department's Sportsmanship/ T.RU.S.T
Program. The Recreation Department wishes to gratefully acknowledge the Rotary Club of
Encinitas for their generosity and cash donation. A copy of the Thank You letter is attached.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $1,000 received from the Rotary Club of Encinitas has been deposited into the Recreation
Trust Account (149-4503-5651) for utilization in the promotion of the Sportsmanship/T.R.U.S.T
Program.
