RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Endorse appointments to standing committees on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Parks and Recreation Commission Committee appointments were last made during the June 2006
meeting. Since that time, Commissioner Pacheco has left the Commission and Commissioner
Martyns has been appointed.
Although not all Committees are actively engaged, staff has depended on their assistance from time
to time. Typically, appointments to committees are made by the Chairperson based upon the
expressed interest of Commissioners to serve on a particular committee. Considering the
construction of the Golf Course is now complete, and with the need to fill several vacancies, the
following standing committees and their commission representatives are being proposed:
• Park and Site Facility and Naming Committee:
Comstock, Cooper, Lyons
• Trails Committee:
Hubbard, Martyns, Alternate-George
» Street Tree Committee:
Hubbard, Martyns, Alternate-Lyons
• Alga Norte Park Committee:
Cooper, George, Craig
• Golf Course Committee:
Proposed to be dropped
• Zone 5 Park Committee:
Proposed to be dropped
• Arena Soccer Committee:
Comstock, Hubbard, Lyons
• Skatepark Committee:
Cooper, Craig, Hubbard
• Prop D Committee Representative:
Comstock
After input and discussion, the Commissions action would be to endorse the committee appointments
as agreed.
