ACTION
RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Receive a cash donation of one thousand nine hundred eighty dollars and thirty-seven cents
($1,980.37) in support of the Recreation Department's Opportunity Grants program from Dudek
Engineering and Environmental, and recommend acceptance by the City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
On July 27, 2007, Dudek Engineering and Environmental organized a special "contractors only"
golf tournament at The Crossings at Carlsbad. The Golf Course Project contractors and their
consultants were asked to make a donation towards the overall cost of organizing and
conducting the tournament so that it could be held at no cost to all of the participants. Excess
funds collected were generously donated by Dudek Engineering and Environmental to the City's
Opportunity Grants program.
The following companies donated funds to the event: Douglas Frederickson Architects, SEMA
Construction, Wadsworth Golf Construction, Simon Wong Engineering, Greg Nash-Architect,
South Coast Erosion Control, Heinbuck Golf, and Jaynes Corporation.
This contribution to the Opportunity Grants program will enable the Recreation Department to
continue to provide financial assistance to children from low-income families who could not
otherwise afford to participate in recreation programming.
FISCAL IMPACT:
A donation from Dudek Engineering and Environmental in the amount of one thousand nine
hundred eighty dollars and thirty-seven cents ($1,980.37) has been deposited into the Recreation
Department's Opportunity Grants account.
