The following items were unanimously approved 5-0:
1. AB # 0209-1 SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION)
The Commission accepted and approved the Summary Report of the December 5, 2008 Parks and
Recreation Commission Meeting.
2. AB # 0209-2 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS - 2008 Leo Carrillo Ranch General Donations -
(ACTION)
The Commission recommended City Manager acceptance of donations in support of Leo Carrillo Ranch.
3. AB # 0209-3 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS - 2008 Leo Carrillo Ranch Dinner and A Movie Night -
(ACTION)
The Commission recommended City Council acceptance of donations from Dinner and a Movie Night in
support of Leo Carrillo Ranch.
4. AB # 0209-4 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS - 2008 Leo Carrillo Ranch Annual Craft Sale -
(ACTION)
The Commission recommended City Council acceptance of donations from Joan Kindle's annual craft sale
held during the Holiday at the Rancho event in support of Leo Carrillo Ranch.

5. AB # 0209-5 DIRECTOR'S REPORT (INFORMATION)
The Commission received a report from the Parks & Recreation Director on recent events and project
work completed throughout the Department. The presentation included updates for the following recent
and upcoming events: Holiday at the Rancho, Teen Scene, Cost Recovery Pyramid, Leo Carrillo Ranch
Barn Stabilization, Recycled Water, Public Tennis Workshop, and the Budget.

6. AB # 0209-6 OVERVIEW OF MAJOR INITIATIVES FOR 2009 (INFORMATION)
The Commission received a report from the Parks & Recreation Director on the major Department
initiatives for 2009. The presentation included updates for the following initiatives: Alga Norte Park, Cost
Recovery Model, Grants/Alternative Funding, Tennis Program for Poinsettia Park, Lake Calavera Master
Plan, Leo Carrillo Ranch Patio Expansion, Robertson Ranch Park, Community Forest Management Plan,
Public Private Partnerships, Envision Carlsbad, and Green Government.
7. AB # 0209-7 PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP UPDATE (INFORMATION)
The Commission received a report from staff regarding public private partnerships.
8. AB # 0209-8 ADOPT-A TRAIL PROGRAM UPDATE (INFORMATION)
The Commission received a report from staff regarding the Adopt-A-Trail program and current
volunteer/fundraising opportunities.
