RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommend acceptance of donation by City Council from Carlsbad Youth Baseball (CYB) for the
Pine Avenue Park fenced storage area.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
CYB donated four thousand nine hundred twenty-five dollars ($4,925) to the City of Carlsbad, for
the sole purpose of constructing a fenced storage area at Pine Avenue Park. The storage area
will now house the portable fencing for the multipurpose field and other large items belonging to
CYB. In the past the field's batting cage was used for storage of the portable fence. The batting
cage may now be used to its fullest capacity and as originally intended in the design process.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $4,925 in donated funds covers the costs associated with constructing the fenced storage
area at Pine Avenue Park.
A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the Parks & Recreation Department and the
City of Carlsbad.
