ITEM EXPLANATION: Attached is the Summary Report of the June 15, 2009 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission. EXHIBITS: 1. CONSENT CALENDAR 1. AB § 0609-1 SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION! The Commission accepted and approved the Summary Report of the May 18,2009 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. 2. AB * 0609-2 ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION - 2009 Quester* Donation fACTIOM The Commission recommends City Council accept the donation from the Questers in support of Leo Carrillo Ranch. Commissioner Craig arrived at the meeting at 5:40 p.m. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS 3. AB 9 06O9-3 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (INFO} The Commission received a report from the Parks & Recreation Director, on recent events and project work completed throughout the Department The presentation included updates for the: Cost Recovery Model (Pyramid), Poinsettia Park Tennis Program, Drought Impacts on City Parks, Monroe Pool Projects, Budget Update, Major P&R Department Goals for FY2009-10, Events Completed Last Month, and Upcoming Events. 4. AB * 0609-4 NEIGHBORHOOD INTERESTS - (INFO} The Commission received a report from staff highlighting the various parks and recreational programs offered in this area. In addition staff discussed the history of the Madison Street vacant land and opened up a discussion regarding potential interim uses for this property. Eighteen community members attended the meeting and expressed their interest in completing a passive use feature for this park and preferably the completion of the ornamental garden that was originally proposed. AB# 0509-5 CARRILLO RANCH PROJECT UPDATE - 2009 (INFO} The Commission received a presentation from staff about the bam stabilization project and the new patio expansion at Leo Carrilto Ranch Historic Park.
