The following action item was unanimously approved 6-0. 1. AB# 1009-1 SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION! The Commission accepted and approved the Summary Report of the September 21, 2009 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. EHWTMEKTALREPOR1S The following action items were unanimously approved 6-0. 2. AB # 1009-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT- (ACTION) The Commission received a report from the Deputy City Manager, on recent donations, events and project work completed throughout the Department and approved all donations. The presentation included updates for: Drought Response/Water Conservation, Alga Norte Community Park & Aquatic Center, Poinsettia Park, Update on the Request for Increased Police/Security Presence After Hours at Poinsettia Park, Pine Park/Madison Property, Leo Carrillo Barn Restoration Update, Department Disaster Preparedness Training, City Manager Realignment Proposal, Department Personnel Changes, Donations, Past and Future Events. 3. AB # 1009-3 CITY OF CARLSBAD TEN YEAR FORECAST- (INFO) The Commission received a report from the Rnance Director on the latest economic forecast for our region as well as details about how our current budget and ten year forecast might be affected. r» SUMMARY REPORT OF THE OCTOBER 19, 2009 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING PAGE 2 Commissioner Martyns was not present during the following action items. The following action item was approved 5-0. 4. AB It 1009-4 OPTION FOR THE USE OF RADIO OR REMOTE CONTROLED AIRCRAFT. CARS. OR SIMILAR DEVICES IN PARKS AND BEACHES - (ACTION} The Commission received a staff report on four different options to address concerns about the change in Municipal Code 11.32.030 involving radio or remote controlled aircrafts in the parks. Taking into consideration public input, the Commission selected a modification to option 4. This municipal code update will be coming forward to the Council in the next few months. The following action item was approved 3-2. 5. AB # 1009-5 COMMISSION MEETING LOCATIONS - (ACTION) The Commission received a staff report which recapped their community outreach over the past six months when the meetings rotated to the different community centers. The commission decided to move their meetings back to the City Council Chambers and would move their meetings out into the community when the topic warranted that level of outreach.
