CONSENT CALENDAR
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting of May 17, 2010
were not approved due to the lack of a quorum of commissioners present at the May 17, 2010 meeting.

The Commission accepted and approved the Summary Report of the May 17, 2010
Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting.

DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
2. AB# 0610-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (ACTION)
The Commission accepted and approved the report on recently completed and upcoming
Parks & Recreation activities, donations and grants, as well as other topics of local interest.

3. AB # 0610-3 CITYWIDE AND DEPARTMENTAL SPECIAL EVENTS BRIEFING AND UPDATE - (INFO)
The Commission received a presentation from staff on the status of citywide special events,
Parks & Recreation special events, and the 29th annual Carlsbad Triathlon being held on
July 11, 2010.
4. AB » 0610-4 UPDATE ON AMENDMENTS TO COUNCIL POLICY NO. 48 NAMING RIGHTS OF
PARKS AND MUNICIPAL FACILITIES - f ACTION}
Staff briefed the Commission on potential changes to the proposed Naming Rights Policy. The
Commission directed staff to consider additional changes to the proposed Policy and to return
to a future Commission meeting for further discussion and action.
