By proper motion, the minutes of the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting of September 17, 2012 were approved.
Approved 4-0-1-2 (Commissioner Craig abstained and Commissioners Martyns and Rudick Stein absent)

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB # 1012-1 COMMISSION SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION)
The Commission accepted and approved the Summary Report of the September 17, 2012
Parks & Recreation Commission meeting.
Approved 4-0-1-2 (Commissioner Craig abstained and Commissioners Martyns and Rudick Stein absent)
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
2. AB # 1012-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (ACTION)
Kyle Lancaster, Parks Superintendent, reported on recently completed and upcoming Parks and
Recreation activities, and donations.
Approved 5-0-0-2 (Commissioners Martyns and Rudick Stein absent)
3. AB # 1012-3 OPPORTUNITY GRANTS SUBCOMMITTEE (ACTION)
Bonnie Elliott, Management Analyst, gave a presentation on the Opportunity Grants Program. Staff
recommended the Commission create an Opportunity Grants Subcommittee, and the Chairperson appoint
three representatives to the Opportunity Grants Subcommittee. Commissioners Matt Simons, Ron Withall,
and Jodi Rudick Stein were appointed.

Postponed the approval of the October 15, 2012 minutes until next commission meeting due to a lack of a
quorum of commissioners who were present at the October 15th meeting.
