Date of Meeting: July 10, 2006 Place of Meeting: FARADAY CENTER-ROOM 173-A MEETING MINUTES Chairperson Nygaard called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Committee Members Present: Julie Baker-Planning Commission Representative, Richard Erhardt- Chairman of the Beach Preservation Committee, Julie Nygaard-retired City Councilwoman, Eric Larson-Executive Director of the San Diego County Farm Bureau, and Hope Wrisley-Community Leader. Committee Member Absent: Deborah Ruddock (non-voting member)-Project Manager for the California Coastal Conservancy, and Irv Rosten – Retired Staff Members Present: Elaine Blackburn, Senior Planner, and Chris DeCerbo, Principle Planner Approval of Minutes: By consensus, the Minutes of the Meeting of June 12, 2006 were approved as submitted. The Committee reviewed staff’s notes from previous meetings regarding the topic of what type of project proposals would and would not be considered for funding. The Committee reviewed and suggested revisions to a draft press release and draft newspaper ads. They also discussed the timing, placement, and cost of the newspaper ads. The Committee discussed a tentative schedule for: placement of ads, proposal submittal period, and a proposal review period. Member Larson expressed his desire that the Committee receive and review proposals as quickly as possible and take the Committee’s Second Report to Council (recommendations for funding) forward to Council by sometime in January 2007. The next Committee meeting was not scheduled yet due to uncertainty regarding proposal submittals. There was no public comment. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public speakers or comments.
