Hoy 7, 1957 The meeting tma called to order at ?:10 P.tl. by Chairman Walters Present besides the Chairman were Commissioners SchelskesJeffers and Herkle and Secretory Braid* Also present'were Chief of Polio© Palkowski and "Uhltey11 G-llssoau and wife. The minutes of the regular meeting of jjprll Z, 1957 were approvedas read* Correspondence t*as reviewed as follows: Two letters from Assemblyman Luokel, Oae letter from assemblyman He gland,One letter from Assemblyman sofarade. One letter from Senator Kraft.. All of these letters were pertaining to harbor legislation now before the various Committees in Sacrament GJ> in answer to letters written by the Secretary to them. Ho action was necessary,, Secretary Bwald reported on Ms trip to Santa Barbara and Sacramento regarding harbor legislation aafl stated that the three nain Bills , gamely 8 Senate Bill 2107, pertaining to the establishment of a Harbor Commission on a State level; 211^ 9 pertain ing to witMratmlof funds from ^xs-tax revenues to the small craft harbor fund; and Assembly Bill 30719 pertaining to the establlshmant of a re- volving fuad for the use of the small oraft i;arbor oaaniisaion when established, were being worked on successfully and were cer tain of passace in this session of the L The status of the Lease between the San Diego Gas and ^leotrio Company and the City was discussed and it was reported that the Public Utilities Commission has not as yet approved of the lease, The Commission studied the tentative harbor plan posted in the office of the City Clerk and generally agreed that the plan looked very satisfactory* Commissioner Dunne reported on his study of the control over dock- ing structures and the type of construction that would be recom- mended for adoption at a future date. He stated tint lie had been in conference with Boyle Engineering who had submitted some tentative plans to him which he bod referred to the City Jack Kubota for review and recommendations.
