Meeting started at 9:00 a.m.
The Committee members discussed the two-page Proposition D educational/
informational document. Jane Mobaldi explained her proposed revisions to the
document. She has attempted to align it more closely to the specific wording in
Proposition D. The Committee members agreed with Jane’s proposed changes. The
Committee members also wanted the references to the Strawberry and Flower-Growing
Fields changed to reflect their previous discussion (refer to them as “farms or farming
areas”) and felt the document should include some additional wording at the beginning
and end to get the public more excited about participating in the process.
Denise Vedder provided the Committee members with a handout describing the
proposed public outreach/communication plan. Denise and Val Brown explained the
proposed plan. After discussion, the Committee agreed to have staff move forward with
the plan.
The Committee members reviewed possible future Committee meeting dates. They will
get back to Barbara Nedros with their availability as soon as possible.
Public Comment
There were two members of the public that spoke. The first speaker wanted to make
sure that the Committee meetings and other events in the process are widely and
efficiently advertised. The second speaker urged the Committee to make it clear in the
educational/informational document that Prop. D allows private as well as public open
space uses.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
