JTEM 1: COD MERCIAL LOA N/FORSYTH. WHITMER
Staff Member Cratty stated that this loan was
being brought to the Committee For a preliminary
review for a commercial rehabilitation loan.
The applicants, Gene Forsyth and Sandra Whitmer
are asking for a loan of $35,000 to convert an
existing 1,180 square foot single family house
to office. Ms. Cratty stated that the plan has
been before the Planning Commission and has
approval. The proposed office is located
adjacent to the Redevelopment Area. A detached
garage will be moved as required by the
Commission.
Marty Orenyak stated that he wanted to see what
advantages this proposal would have on the
Redevelopment Area.
Chairperson McCoy stated that the proposal was
still in the block grant area (rehabilitation
area). Discussion held on prioritizing projects
that were in the the Redevelopment Area since
goal of committee was to "beef" up area.
Chairperson McCoy asked if there were any code violations or problems pertaining to this site. Staff Member Salomone stated that all concerns
were taken care of at the Planning Commission

level. Staff Member Cratty also mentioned that the area in question was in the process of being converted due to development of other projects to light commercial and this project would be a compatible use.
Staff Member Cratty stated that the applicant has not received final bids and that this was only a preliminary review of the loan application. a problem with the front yard set back and location of parking area. design of site plan and not being able to require that the applicant change site plan since it already has Planning Commission approval.
Motion by Member Elliott to continue processing of loan C$LfS,OOOI and mentioning to applicant to contact the Building Department about identifying handicap parking space and to provide path of travel to interior. Also to let applicant know loan may not be for full amount of rehabilitation.

loans are up to date - no defaults on any of the
loans given so far.
Discussion held on letting the 7-Up Market
applicants know that they still need to get the
veneer up at their location.
JTEM 3. WORKSHOP
Staff Member Cratty stated that there was going to be a workshop and presentation with Economic Research Associates who were doing a market analysis/feasibility study in the Redevelopment Area.
