1. Status report of water project by Engineering Science.
Mr. Deussen had brought the latest set of plans. He explained
a displayed map showing the completed and corrected part of the
project and the part yet to be completed. He stated there are some
right-of-way problems. A fully completed set of plans should be
ready by the end of the month.
$2,300,000 is the estimated total cost as compared to
$1,800,000 estimated in 1968.
Mr. Cook stated that after the appraisals are completed, the
people will be contacted.
Discussion was held on the Sheffler property where condemnation
proceedings may be necessary. These proceedings allow 90 days to
the owner after which time the City can get immediate possession.
The preliminary cost estimate of property for the three reservoir
sites and easements is $150,000.
Mr. Deussen stated the main right-of-way problem is at Marron
Road and Hosp Grove due to the fact that the Marron Road alignment
has not yet been finalized. Mr. Cook stated existing streets could
be used for alignment of the water pipe.
It was stated the City has to make a statement to HUD to prove
the necessary right of way has been obtained before construction
can begin on any particular parcel. Construction can begin on other
portions of the project. If there are any problems, HUD should be
informed.
November 1 is the target date set for receiving bids.
2. Surplus water properties for sale.
It was reported that a potential buyer for the Monroe Street
property has been found.

3. Determination of Calavera Lake.
The Mayor has asked this Committee to review the Calavera
Lake property as to the topography, the amount of water within the
area, the ingress and egress and also the terms for the lease or
sale of the property. Also, he wanted the peoples' opinions on the
best use for the property. He wants an idea of the difficulty of
getting a sewer line to this area.

Mr. Cannon stated we should let the buyer worry about these
problems.
Mr. Arnold stated Parks and Recreation have an interest in this
property also.
Respectfully submitted,
