those designed for the Planning as well as the Parks and Recreation
Commissions, to be approved by minute motion of the City Council.
Mr. Watson will conclude his chairmanship term at the close of the
present fiscal year (June 30, 1972).
Preliminary Water Rate Study
Jerry Pieti explained in detail his method of preparing the Water
Rate Study, and a general question and answer period followed. Mem-
bers of the committee requested that the following information be in-
cluded in the study --.
1. Recompute ready-to-serve charge to include a given amount of
water.
2. Compare water rates of Carlsbad with surrounding communities.
3. Projections on CMWD and Metropolitan Water District costs for
the next five years.
4. Include cost of new equipment, capital expenditures, and cost
of upgrading equipment for the next five years.
Councilman McComas thought the City Council would like a firm recom-

ready-to-serve plus minimum water usage. City staff will present
