Bowen, Robert Watson, Bill Cannon, Glenn McComas, Thelma Sowell, Finance Director, Hunter Cook, Public Works Director. Absent: W.C. Esterline, Knox Williams, Robert Garland, Jack Arnold, City Manager. 1_. Discussion of Water Rates for Multiple Dwellings. The City Council requested that the Water Committee review the water rate structure with respect to motels, hotels, apartment houses, etc. After some discussion concerning general operat- ing philosophy, and a reaffirmation of the concept using ready to serve charges, it was moved (Watson-Cannon) that sections IV and IX of City Council Resolution No. 2098, as adopted October 3, 1972, be deleted. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Committee reaffirmed its intention that multiple dwellings bear a greater share of the cost of maintaining the system in a ready to serve condition as opposed to single family residen- tial units, and that all types of multiple dwellings be charged on the same basis. It was the Committee's intention originally to have the 70£ charge replaced by the $3.35 per unitxready to serve charge. The single family residence has aIways' carried the brunt of the water operation. ?_. Review of City Water Properties . The Committee requested that disposal of excess City water properties be expedited as much as is reasonably possible. 2_. Review of Water Enterprise Operations.
