The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M.
The reading of the minutes was deferred.
The first item under discussion was appraisal funds for Lake Calavera
Water property . Bill Baldwin provided the Committee with background
information on the need for an appraisal of the property. The
Committee discussed the use of the term "sale" in regard to the need
for appraisal of the subject property.
A motion was made, seconded and carried to spend water funds not to
exceed $10,000 for appraisal of Lake Calavara property. Any monies
received from the sale of this property should return this amount
expended on appraisal fees to the Capital Reserve account that the
money will be alloted from.
Tim Flanagan went over staff papers on factors affecting water rates.
A motion was made, seconded and carried to instruct the City Council to
sell the water property on Mesa Drive, Oceanside, called Reservoir #1,
(currently appraised at $28,000) and that the property should be
offered for sale in excess of the currently appraised price.
The Committee also directed the staff to recommend another piece of
water property that the Committee could act on at the next meeting.
A short discussion ensued concerning current water -usage and finances
of the water enterprise. The Chairman stated that, due to time
expended on the Lake Calavera appraisal, the Committee should take
the material supplied by the staff on water rates and water rights
and read it for discussion at next meeting.
The next meeting will be held the second Tuesday in December -
December 11, 1973 at 4:00 P.M.
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 P.M.
