CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Vigil called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Members Vigil, Hall, Jackson, Meyer, Reasons and Williams.
Absent: Member Copley
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
By proper motion, the minutes of the meetings held on May 10,1993 and May 17, 1993 were
approved as presented.
1. ARMY CORP OFFSHORE STUDY; This item was trailed and discussed as Item No. 4
due to the late arrival of Dr. Kadib and Steve Fine of the Army Corp. Dr. Kadib and Steve
Fine briefed the Committee on status of their initial findings and discussed the procedure,
timing and financing needed to perform the Reconnaissance Study.
2. SAND MONITORING PROGRAM: Staff Member Jantz distributed a memo to the
Committee dated 6/14/93 outlining the City's Beach Monitoring Program. After discussion
a motion by Member (Copjeyjto continue with the annual monitoring program with the
Tekmarine was duly ^econded and approved by the Committee.
3. OPPORTUNISTIC SAND; Staff Member Jantz updated the Committee on the status
of the Opportunistic Sand Program and stated that Frank Jimeno of the Engineering
Department has been assigned to the program.
4. SHORELINE EROSION COMMITTEE UPDATE: Staff Member Jantz distributed a
memo to the Committee dated 6/14/93 highlighting the key purposes of the Shoreline
Preservation Strategy. Mr Jantz introduced Steve Sachs of SANDAG who gave a brief
presentation about this strategy and the funding options. After discussion, Member
Jackson made a motion to support the strategy and that Council adopt a resolution of
support which was duly seconded and approved by the Committee.
5. ELECTION OF NEW CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR FOR 93/94 TERM: Member Dave
Copley was elected New Chair and Member Lu Ann Hall was elected Vice-Chair to be
effective July 12,1993.

at the Housing and Redevelopment Office.
