DATE OF MEETING: September 10,1996
TIME OF MEETING: 4:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Howes called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Members Hall, Howes, Jackson, Meyers and Prohaska
Absent: Members Williams and Reasons
Guests: Terry Wells - No County Times
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes of the meeting held on August 13, 1996 were approved.
1. FUTURE WORK EFFORTS: The Committee discussed future work efforts such as on-
going beach monitoring, bluff measurements, beach area needs assessment and routine
consultant services. They were also interested in workshops to update the public on beach
issues such as the Navy Homeporting project. The Navy will have sand available by April
1997. Staff member Jantz will bring a list back of the Committee's ideas and the Goals and
Objectives to October 8th meeting to discuss implementation
2. OLD BUSINESS:
Opportunistic Sand Program - The "final" document has been resubmitted to all
agencies for their review.
3. NEW BUSINESS: Chair Howes will contact Member Reasons to determine her member
status.
4. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS: None
5. PUBLIC COMMENT: None
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m. The next meeting of the Beach
Erosion Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 1996, at 4:00 p.m. at the Housing and
Redevelopment office.
