DATE OF MEETING: September 13, 2005

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m.ROLL CALCT
Present Members: Bud Carroll, Ed Andrews, Dick Erhardt, Jon Campbell, Mike Sullivan, BruceMacklin and Angela Lockhart
Absent Members: NoneGuests: Tom & Bobbie Lockhart, Ray Duncan, City of Oceanside, Joe Bingham, City ofOceanside, Barbara Henry, North County Times and Bill Wechter, North County
Times.Staff: Steve Jantz & Belinda Guzman
1. TOUR OF CARLSBAD AGUAFARM OPERATION: John Davis hosted a tour of the Carlsbad
Aquafarm operations. Operations include the farming of mussels, oysters, clams, abalone and
seahorses for sale. Growing quality food that doesn't have to be harvested from the ocean is
their goal.
2. SHORELINE PRESERVATION COMMITTEE: The September 1st summary was tabled to
the October 11, 2005 Beach Preservation Committee meeting.
3. AG MITIGATION MEETING: Chair Erhardt provided a brief summary of the first Ag Mitigation
meeting, noting Julie Nygaard is the Chair and Eric Larsen is the Vice Chair. Chair Erhardt
will keep the Committee informed on future meetings.
4. PROGRAM/PROJECT UPDATES:
• Opportunistic Sand Program Update - Tabled to the October 11, 2005 Beach Preservation
Committee meeting.
5. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS: None
6. PUBLIC COMMENT: None
ADJOURNMENT/NEXT MEETING
By proper motion, the meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m. The next meeting of the Beach
Preservation Cpmmittee will be Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. in the City of Carlsbad
Faraday Administration Building, Room 173-A (1635 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad, 92008).
