BEACH PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
February 14, 2012

The meeting was called to order at 4:12 pm.
Vice-chair Jayme Timberlake, Ed Andrews, Darryl Hatheway, Linda
Petrucci, and Pieter de Monchy

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the December 13, 2011 and June 14, 2011 were held over for a
quorum of members who attended those meetings.
1. INTRODUCE NEW BPC MEMBER: The Committee welcomed newly appointed member Linda Petrucci.
2. REVIEW 2012-2013 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The Committee reviewed and approved their 2012-
2013 Goals and Objectives Program. The Committee suggested they continue the discussion of
upcoming work efforts and develop a prioritized list of topics the committee wants to complete.
3. REGIONAL BEACH SAND PROJECT II: Staff member Jantz stated that on February 14, 2012 the City
Council will consider a request from Sandag for an additional fund contribution to the Sandag
Regional Beach Sand Project II in the amount of $225,000.
4. COMMITTEE MEMBER DISCUSSION:
• State Parks Report-None.
• Beach Brochure Update -Staff member Jantz indicated the city has received a quote for the
production of the updated Beach Brochure and will be working to print the document in time for
Beach Fest.
5. PUBLIC COMMENT: None

By proper motion, the meeting was adjourned at 5:32 pm. The next meeting of the Beach Preservation
Committee will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the City of Carlsbad Parks and Recreation
