The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Peterson at 4:06 P.Ml Present besides the Chair-
man were Directors E. H. Jose, Jr; and C. R. -.
Helton. Also present was James Weber of Weber .
& Edwards, Architects.
Approval of Minutes
held on April 4,
and May-15, 1968
Minutes of the meetings
1968, May 6, 1968, May 8, 1968
were approved as presented.
Fifth Progress Payment. The Fifth Progress pay-
ment in the amount of $74,156.63 to C. A. Larsen
Construction Co*. , Contractor, was approved as
certified by the Architect and Building Inspector
Mr. Weber informed the Authority including the
above payment the total amount paid to the con-
tractor was $369,262.50. In addition the carpet-
ing would be $10,824.00, furniture; $13,808.61 and
miscellaneous items listed in Change Order #5
in the amount of $2,283.00.
Change Order #5. The items' listed in Change
Order #5 were explained to the members by Mr..
Weber, totaling $2,283.00.
By motion of the Authority Change Order #5 was
approved in the amount of $2,283.00.
Payment of Bills. The following bills were pre-
sented for payment: Western Service & Equipment
Co. $1,209.14 for installation of the gas tank
pump. It was. noted that the old gas pump would
be installed at the .new Fire Station. Blade
Tribune Publishing Co. $17.92, cost of a.dvertis-
ing of bids for miscellaneous furniture; South
Coast Asphalt Co., Inc., material for installa-
tion of gas pump; and reimbursement to the City
of Carlsbad in the amount of $1,266.98 for the
installation of underground electrical service.
Following discussion

Sprinkler System. Mr. Osburn, Building Inspector
informed the members of the Authority he was
'recommending- that some of the sprinklers be de-
leted in order to prevent dampness on the East
side of the building, and that-crushed rock be
placed in the area with some planting. Also he
suggested that consideration be given to construct
ing, a block wall around the Police Department
parking area. There are some of the blocks left
from the building, which the supplier has,, and
as they were made specifically for this building,
the City could no'doubt purchase these extra
blocks at a great reduction.
The Building Inspector was instructed to obtain
the cost to the City for the purchase of t-he
remainder of the blocks. . •
