Councfl Chambers • The meeting was called Vice Chairman Peterson Directors Peterson and Absent. to order at 5:00 P.M. by Members present were Jose. Director Helton was Approval _____ of Minutes. Minutes of July 6, 1970 were deferred due to the absence of Director Helton. Repair to Administration Building. A memorandum .was presented from the Purchasing Agent of "the City, concerning the roof over the recepti on area of the Administration Building, which has been leaking during the rainy season. A bid of$430.00 has been received to repair the structure. The Purchasing Agent requested permission to proceed with the repairs and noted the project would be funded with contingency monies from the General Fund of the City. By proper motion permission was granted by the Carlsbad Building Authority to proceed with the repairs as indicated in the memorandum from the Purchasing Agent, dated October 16, 1970. Alterations to Police Department. Due to a resent accident whereby a brick was thrown .thru the plate glass window in the Police facility entrance, a memorandum was submitted by the Build- ing Inspector to the City Manager concerning necessary alterations. The Building Inspector recommended that the plate glass be replaced with tinted tempered glass at a cost of $470.30, and that the door that was broken with the rock be replaced with tempered blass at a cost of $75.93. It was pointed out that consideration had been given to constructing a screen block wall between the entrance and the street at a cost of $630. The Building Inspector recommended that the temp- ered glass be installed at this time but not the screen wall. He noted'the plate glass that is removed can be used in other parts of the building By a unanimous vote approval was given to the proposed alterations to the Police facilities to replace the plate glass with tempered glass as recommended by the Building Inspector. Building Authority Furniture. Discussion was give as to some of the furniture that was purchased by the Building Authority for the City Hall and Police Department now being utilized by the Fire Department. It was suggested that the Fire Chief appropriate sufficient funds in his budget this coming year to purchase 'the necessary furniture for his department, and that the Building Author- ity furniture be returned to the. Admi ni stration building. It was pointed out that many items were cut in the construction costs. at the time the Administration and Police facilities were built due to lack of funds. ADJOURNMENT.
