The meeting was called to order by Chairman Helton
at 10:05 A.M. Present besides the Chairman was
Director Jose. Director Peterson was absent.
The Chairman announced this meeting was called
for the purpose of discussing a propo.sed lease
agreement between the County of San Diego and the
City of Carlsbad for use of the Council Chambers.
Mr. Arnold, City Manager, informed the members of
.the Authority the County of San Diego is desirous
of using the Council Chambers fo.r a temporary
Courtroom for.the period beginning February 16,
1971 and ending Apri1 30, 1971. Rent for said
premises would be $300.00, which would be placed
at the disposal of the City for cost of utilities,
janitorial services, etc. The lease also provides
that the County shall provide manpower and equip-
ment to aid in.paving the lower parking lot. The
benefit the Parking Authority would receive is
the paving of the parking lot.
Following discussion as to the terms of the lease
agreement, the Lease Agreement between the County
of San Diego .and the City of Carlsbad: was approved
subject to the conditions stipulated in the Agree-
ment.
By proper motion th.e meeting was adjourned at
10:20 A.M.

LEASE AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of
, 19 , by and between the BUILDING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, hereinafter referred to as Lessor, and the COUNTY
OF SAN DIEGO,, a political subdivision of the State of California, herein-
after referred to as County, whereby the parties hereto agree as follows:
WITNESSETH:
1. Lessor hereby leases to the County for the period beginning
February 16, 1971, and ending April 30, 1971, that certain real property
known as City of Carlsbad Council Chambers, 1200 Elm, Carlsbad, California,
to be used as a temporary courtroom, during the hours of 9:00 a.m. through
k:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for the term of this
Agreement,
2. The County shall pay to the Lessor as rental for said leased
premises the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), in addition to pro-
viding manpower to aid in paving the lower parking lot for additional
parking to serve the leased premises not to exceed man hours.
3. The Lessor shall provide and pay for all utilities and services
necessary for the enjoyment of the leased premises except telephone, which
the County shall provide.
k. County agrees to leave the premises in the same condition as upon
the date of this Agreement, ordinary wear and tear and Acts of God excepted.
5. This Lease shall be administered on behalf of the County by the
Director of the Real Property Division, and shall be administered on behalf
of Lessor by _.
6. This Rental Agreement shall terminate on April 30, 1971.
