April 21. 1955
The meeting was called to order at 7:37 P. ?•-• by Chairman Wes-
tree in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Other Commissioners pre-
sent were Felt, Stuart, Christiansen, McClellen, and Nielsen. The minutes
of the March 22, 1955 meeting were read and approved.
Comm. Westree reported that he had contacted the manager of
the local Helms Bakery regarding landscaping of property adjacent per
the original agreement and indicated that Helms would undertake action
to landscape the area.
Mrs. Stuart moved that Mr. Chapman of the San Diego Gas & Elec-
tric Co. be written and requested to supply us with a copy of the list of
recommended trees for street and yard planting, and a small supply of the
"Trees" booklet published by the Gas Company. Comm. Christiansen seconded
the motion and it carried.
Comm. Nielsen reported on the status of improvement of Holiday
Park for the dedication ceremonies during Spring Holiday. Comm. Chris-
tiansen moved that the labor bill presented by Mr. Westree in the amount
of $88.00 be authorized. Comm. Stuart seconded the motion and the motion
carried.
The motion was made by Mrs. Felt that Mr. Grant Ashby, 1287
Las Flores Drive, be written a letter of appreciation for the work he
contributed in surveying the Park, Comm. Nielsen seconded, motion carried.
The Chairman appointed Comm. McClellan and Comm. Christiansen
a committee of two to make the necessary arrangements for the dedication
ceremony.
It was decided to meet again at 7:30 P. IvI., Apr.il 28, 1955,
at the City Hall. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 P. M.
