At : i that time it was the Council's decision to require a mini- i f mum width of 62' and a maximum width of 68'. It is the I i feeling of the Engineering Department there should not be i I a maximum width set, due to the fact there are a few i I streets with an 80' right of way, and the City would have ; : to vacate property, I I I Discussion was also given as to sidewalks in a commercia! i zone, or along commercial streets. It was the decision ; ! of the Council that sidewalks in a commercial zone or f i along a commercial street (which shall be determined by i t the Engineering Department), shall be installed contiguoud I to the curb and shall be not less than 10' in width. In the i i event the property upon which the sidewalk is to be in- i ; stalled is presently utilized for residential purposes the ; I City Engineer may allow an installation of sidewalk of not 1 i less than 5' on said property and the location of the 5' I i sidewalk shall be determined by the City Engineer. At f : such time as the property is converted from a residential i i to a commercial use the property owner shall then install I : the additional 5' of sidewalk to provide a 10' sidewalk con< i tiguous to the street. I I i By common consent it was agreed that the motion of ; September 4, 1962, be amended to allow a minimum. streek 1 width of 62' for secondary streets, and that there be no i : maximum width requirement for secondary streets. I : Cmn. Neiswender informed the Council the committee ; I appointed by the Mayor is working on an ordinance with : : the Parks and Recreation Commission, which should solve: i some of these problems. They are in hopes of having this: ; report ready for the next Council meeting. I I : Cmn.
