Meeting of: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting) Date of Meeting: February 27, 1974

The Mayor announced this meeting was called for the
purpose of discussing matters concerning the General Municipal Election to be held March 5, 1974.
The City Clerk informed the Council in the preparation
of the resolution calling the General Municipal Elec-
tion, the compensation of the persons named as electio
officers was ,omitted, as well as the rental fee for th
polling places and compensation of Custodian of a building, when required, and that it was necessary for the Council to establish the fees. The fees were checked with Oceanside and Vista, and the fees recom- mended in the proposed resolution are in keeping with the Tri-city area.
The City Clerk further stated pursuant to Section
22932.5 of the Elections Code, the City Council has
the option of ordering the City Clerk to canvass the
ballots prior to March 12, 1974, rather than the City
Council having to perform this function at the Council meeting.
The following resolutions were presented for the
Council's consideration:
Resolution No. 3365. A RESOLUTI.ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLU-
TION NO. 3290, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLD-
ING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, BY ADDING THERE-
OFFICERS, FEE FOR RENTAL OF POLLING PLACES, AND COM-
TO SECTION 11, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR ELECTION
PENSATION FOR CUSTODIAN OF BUILDING WHEN REQUIRED, was adopted by title only and further reading waived.
Resolution No. 3366. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUIVCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
CANVASS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON THE 5TH DAY OF MARCH, 1974, TO BE MADE BY THE CITY
CLERK OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, was adopted by title
only and further reading waived.
