This being the time set for a Joint Meeting with the Carlsbad City
Council, the matter is now called up.
There is on file a letter from the Director of Parks and Recreation
providing background material on the Calavera Lake Project in a the Carlsbad area, Board of Supervisors Document No. 538670 .
Members of the Carlsbad City Council present are: Robert C, Frazee,
Mayor; Claude Lewis, Vice Mayor; Mary Casler, Councilwoman; Ronald C.
Packard, Councilman; Anthony J. Skotnicki, Councilman; Paul D, Bussey,
City Manager; and Vincent F. Biondo, Jr., City Attorney.
Discussion is held on the zoning aspects and the annexation status
of the area surrounding the City of Carlsbad, particularly the Palomar
Airport and the County-owned island within the City of Carlsbad,
ON MOTION of Supervisor Hamilton, seconded by Supervisor Bates, the
Board directs staff to pursue annexation of the Palomar Airport area and
the remaining County-owned island within the City of Carlsbad; to review
the Carlsbad Community Plan and take actions to make the San Diego Count3
General Plan 1990 coincide and make appropriate zone changes to bring the
into conformance; and, wherever possible, to bring annexations into the
City of Carlsbad where development would occur, *

Roll call on the foregoing motion results in the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Hamilton, Bates, Taylor
NOES : Supervisors None
ABSENT: Supervisors Moore,- Hedgecock
Discussion follows on the Lake Calavera Regional Park Project, khe
disposition of properties surrounding it, the sources for funding if the
County considered its acquisition, its position on the priority list of
acquisition of regional parks, and it is suggested that this Project be
referred to the upcoming conference on Regional Park Plans.
