The Public Works Administrator, Ron Beckman,. distributed his Memorandum dated June 23, 1977, to Council. He then outlined the contents of the Memora.ndum and the suggested priority list reached by a committee and staff.
Mr. Beckman then referred to Condition A in the Memorandum which states Chase Field will be deeded to the City in the event the School District receives allocation for Laguna Riviera School, which is Priority Number One. He stated' staff was suggesting this be changed.to require the deeding of Chase Field to the City in return for placing the School District's project as Priority Number One.
Councilwoman Casler referred to Condition C which shows the location of the tennis courts at the intersection of Valley and Monroe and questioned whether this should in fact be at the intersection of Valley and Basswood. Staff concurred with the correction.
Council discussed at length whether Chase Field should be deeded in exchange for the School District receiving funds for their project or in exchange for placing their project as Priority Number One.
Further Council discussion related to Mira Costa College District's recent claim to be included in the pl'anning process, and the effect on futur allocations if they can or cannot verifry their claim.
Council recognized Dr. John McDonald, Superinten dent of Mira Costa College, who outlined their
position in regard to the fund allocation.
Following further discussion, Council concurred that the deed to Chase Field pass to the City only in the event of successful allocation of funds for Laguna Riviera School.
Council approved the project priority list as shown in the Memorandum to the City Manager date June 23, 19.77, with the addition of the Mira Costa project as outlined in the Femorandum, and subject to the a,greement by the School District
