ROLL CALL:
(50) l. BUDGET
Mayor Packard stated the purpose of the meeting
was to enable staff to present and make comments
on the proposed 1979-80 budget.
The City Manager then referenced the proposed
1979-80 fiscal year budget presented to Council
and outlined the contents of his Memorandum
dated July 9, 1979, contained therein.
In addition, the City Manager briefly reference~
several areas of the proposed budget which
would require a Council ~olicy decision, and
eiplained some assumptions used during the
preparation of the proposed budget.
Following brief Council comments and questions,
Council agreed to review ,the budget in terms of
policy issues. ·
It was the consensus of Council that the budget
be discussed at a meeting to be held on July 23~
1979, b~ginning at 8:00 A.M.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Council adjourried to an Executive Session at
8:26 P.M. for the purpose of instructing the
City's representative on Meet and Confer matters
Council reconvened at 9:35 P.M. with'all Council
members present, and Mayor Packatd announced
that Meet and Confer matters had been diseussed.
It was moved that management employees and all
employee groups with whom an agreement has been
reached on established salaries by July 17t 1979
the Council intends to make those salary adjust-
ments retroactive to July 1, 1979.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the meeting was adjourned at
9:37 P.M.
