Meeting of: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
Date of Meeting: January 8, 1991

CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Nygaard, Stanton,
Larson, Kulchin and Mayor Lewis.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council Meaber Kulchin stated she would abstain from
discussion and voting in the Closed Session, and left
the meeting at 5:31 p.m..
Council adjourned to a Closed Session at 5:31 p.m.,
purscxit. to Government Code Section 54956.9 (a) to
discuss Kel-Cal, et al. v. City of Carlsbad, Case No.
N49825.
Council reconvened at 6:05 p.m., with four Council
Msmbers present and Council Member Kulchin absent.
Mayor Lewis reported Council had authorized the City
Attorney to have a special counsel assist in the
defense in this case.
ADJOUWMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting was adjourned at
6:05 p.m.
