PUBLIC COMMENT Mr. Tim Davidson, 1219 Stratford Lane, addressed Council concerning Youth Sports. He explained that the 'Tarheels" basketball team is now in the playoffs and are competing this Saturday for the City Championship. However, they have been informed that if they win, they will have to play an additional mini-tournament to decide the championship since one of their players is ineligible to compete in the County play-offs. They cited the entire history of the matter noting that the Parks & Recreation staff made the error when they placed the individual in the wrong Division. He stated they understand that if they play in the County play-offs, they would be playing without that individual. However, the "Tarheels" team should not be penalized because of an error by Parks & Recreation staff. He requested that the team be allowed to advance to the County play-offs if they win Saturday without replaying the tournament. City Manager Ray Patchett stated staff would look into the situation, and decide the matter in the most equitable fashion.
