MINUTES
MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: March 5, 1996
TIME OF MEETING: SO0 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Finnila, Mayor Pro Tem Nygaard and Mayor Lewis.
Absent: Council Member Kulchin.
Council adjourned to a Closed Session at 505 p.m., to discuss the following:
CLOSED SESSION:
74 1. CLOSED SESSION - EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS.
Council held a Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6 to discuss
employer-employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation with designated
staff as labor negotiators with respect to negotiations with the CCEA, CPOA, Police
Management Association employee organizations and unrepresented employees.
41 2. CLOSED SESSION - PENDING LITIGATION.
Council held a Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), to discuss
pending litigation, Coast Waste Management v. County, Case No. 94-1823-S(BTM), City v.
County, Case No. N66415, and Ten Cities v. County, Case No. 94-1525-IEG(POR).
Council re-convened at 6:20 p.m., with four Members present and Council Member Kulchin
absent, and Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and instructed
staff and the Attorneys regarding these matters.
