MINUTES
MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: May 14, 1996
TIME OF MEETING: 5:OO p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:OO p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Finnila, Kulchin, Mayor Pro Tern Nygaard
and Mayor Lewis.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council adjourned to a Closed Session at 5:OO p.m., to discuss the following:
41 1. CLOSED SESSION - PENDING LITIGATION.
Council held a Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section
54956.9(a), to discuss the Coast Waste Management v. County Case No. 94-
1823-S(BTM), the City v. County Case No. N66415, and the Ten Cities v.
County Case No. 94-1525-IEG(POR), pending litigation.
81 2. Council held a Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.8,
to discuss the potential acquisition of a +25.85 acre vacant parcel of real
property known as the Beckman Instruments, Inc., property, located on the
south side of Faraday Avenue, in the Palomar Airport industrial area.
Council re-convened at 5:58p.m., with all five Members present and Mayor
Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and instructed staff
and the Attorneys regarding these matters.
