MINUTES
MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: August 6, 1996
TIME OF MEETING: 5:OO p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:OO p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Mayor Pro Tem Nygaard and
Mayor Lewis.
Absent: Council Member Finnila.
CLOSED SESSION:
74 1. CLOSED SESSION - EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS.
Council held a Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6,
to discuss employer-employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and
compensation with designated staff as labor negotiators with respect to the
negotiations with the CCEA Employee Organization and Management
Employees.
11 2. CLOSED SESSION - PENDING LITIGATION.
Council held a Closed Session pursuant go Government Code Section
54956.9(a), to discuss West Coast General. J. V., v. Citv of Carlsbad, Case
No. N61626; West Coast General J. V., v. Citv of Carlsbad, Case No. N66859;
and West Coast General, J. V.. v. City of Carlsbad, Case No. N69002, pending
litigation.
Council re-convened at 6:08 p.m., with four Members present and Council Member
Finnila absent, and Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information
and instructed staff and the Attorneys regarding these matters.
