MINUTES
MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: August 20, 1996
TIME OF MEETING: 5:OO p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:OO p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Finnila, Kulchin, Mayor Pro Tem Nygaard
and Mayor Lewis.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
74 1. CLOSED SESSION - EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND
NEGOTIATIONS.
Council held a Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6,
to discuss employer-employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and
compensation with designated staff as labor negotiators with respect to the
negotiations with the CCEA, CPOA, Police Management Association employee
organizations, and unrepresented employees.
81 2. CLOSED SESSION - PROPERTY ACQUISITION.
Council held a Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.8,
to discuss the acquisition or potential acquisition of approximately 28.85 acres
of real property located along the south side of Faraday Avenue and El Camino
Real, in the Palomar Airport industrial area of Carlsbad, and generally
identified as APN: 209-050-29, owned by Beckman Instruments, Inc.
Council re-convened at 5142 p.m., with all five Members present, and Mayor Lewis
announced that Council had heard the information and instructed staff and the
Attorneys regarding these matters.
