MINUTES
MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: November 12, 1996
TIME OF MEETING: 5:OO p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Finnila, Mayor Pro Tem Nygaard and
Mayor Lewis.
Absent: Council Member Kulchin.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council adjourned to Closed Session at 5:02 p.m., to discuss the following:
41 1. CLOSED SESSION - PENDING LITIGATION.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), pending litigation regarding
Spinos v. City of Carlsbad, Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, Case Nos.
SDO-0206267 and SDO-0207600.
74 2. CLOSED SESSION - EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.6, to discuss employer-employee
relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation with designated staff as
labor negotiators with respect to the negotiations with the Carlsbad
Firefighters Association (CFA) and unrepresented employees.
Council re-convened at 6: 16 p.m., and Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard
the information and instructed staff and the Attorneys regarding these matters.
