HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-12-04; City Council; Minutes0 e MEETING OF : DATE OF MEETING: TIME OF MEETING: PLACE OF MEETING: MINUTES CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting) December 4,1998 12:30 p.m. City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 12:40 p.m. ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk as follows: Present: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Nygaard, Mayor Pro-Tem Finnila, and Mayor Lewis (Council Member Hall left the meeting at 1 :45 p.m.) PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None. CLOSED SESSION: Council adjourned to Closed Session at 12:40 p.m., to discuss Item No. 3, which was taken out of order as follows: 3. CLOSED SESSION - EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS. Employer-employee relations , salaries, salary schedules and compensation with designated staff as labor negotiators with respect to negotiations with the CFA, CCEA, CPOA, and Police Management Association employee organizations, and unrepresented employees, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c). Council Member Hall left the meeting at 1:45 p.m. Council continued the Closed Session with four members present, to discuss Item Nos. 1 and 2 as follows: 1. PENDING LITIGATION. The Matter of the Application of San Diego Gas & Electric Company (U 902E) for Authority to Sell Electrical Generation Facilities and Power Contracts, A-97-12-039, pending litigation, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a). 2. INITIATION OF LITIGATION. Initiation of litigation involving San Diego Gas & Electric Company and the acquisition of the Encina Power Plant site and its associated properties, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c). Council reconvened at 2:56 p.m. with four Council Members present. Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information, and instructed staff and the Attorney regarding the items.
